Lenovo ideapad Yoga
First impressions:
The Lenovo idea pad yoga is an ultrabook with a difference. It contains a 360 degree hinge that allows the display to bend right back so that it touches the underside of the laptop. This turns the laptop into a tablet like device. This is the first ultrabook to feature a touch screen and is the first hybrid device to be released under the ultrabook moniker.
The device has a 13.3 inch 1600x900 pixel display that is extremely bright and clear. The ideapad yoga is 16.9mm thick which is thin by laptop standards but thick in comparison to tablets. At 1.47kg it is a lot heavier than other tablets and is large 13.3 inch screen adds to the unwieldy factor of the device.
In the UK it will cost £1200 in the UK for a model with 4 GB of ram and a core i5 processor. A more expensive core i5 edition is also on the cards.
my first impressions on the device are that it is the genesis of a whole slew of hybrid ultrabooks to come, that may mean that better touch screen ultrabooks may be on the way.
